The action of "letting go" of something, or someone begins with self-reflection and a willingness to allow vulnerability to lead the way. When something happens that stops you in your tracks, forces you to become an observer of your own mind, without judgment, rather you just notice what it feels like inside your body when you have the thoughts you have, and don't react, somehow the thing you realize you're letting go of is your ego.
Our thoughts, feelings and actions develop within our minds and are expressed in outward ways. When you live with a sense of surrender, you experience detachment with life and the perceptions of others. It's the detachment that allows you to see the present moment with clarity.
Ego is the way you perceive life. When you perceive life out of your individual perception, you see life out of ego. Your life can be more fulfilling and satisfactory without an ego but it takes practice and trust in letting go that makes it possible. Whenever you feel attached to something, it gives rise to an ego. When you consciously work to dissolve your ego, you experience absolute freedom in life.
Where once I felt so attached to another person, in the struggle to keep the attachment, all I felt was pain. Pointing out the secrets and observations of my partner came with compassion yet returned with projection, shame, and disbelief. It hurt so deeply to know I was relatively insignificant in the life of another I thought I was on parallel tracks with. He was mine, and I was his. But not now.
I feel that in setting my ego aside, I can sit within my very being, get up close to the pain, and dissolve the emotional charge of the loss. Pain is an invitation to dissolve ego. It makes you realize what you are seeking is living within the very essence of your own being. You won't find it in another person at all. That's just an ego illusion.
I know many of you share in similar ways and have walked through this type of calamity in your own lives. I see your replies and your love. I see you. There's no way out of pain but in. Your personal life, professional life, the reaction in the moment, daily choices, and decisions, everything comes out of an ego.
The best way to come closer to the natural process of life is to dissolve your ego.
The time you consciously work to dissolve your personality, your life tends to shift closer to the natural process of life.
