Meditation is a science of the inner mind, allowing us to develop a more open heart and tune into the frequency within one's heart. Within that, forgiveness is a major component - that is forgiving one's self.
Rather than believing these horrible tragedies and confrontations occur TO us, what if perhaps they are being done FOR us? In other words, this person and situation is giving me a chance to develop forgiveness and a deeper sense of spiritual growth.
My husband Chris was and still is my meditation aid, my spiritual healer, guide, and teacher. He is refining and helping my meditation practice. With this attitude and belief, life and loss become different. I want to develop compassion because it helps others and it helps me.
With no external stimulus to distract me from the ache in my heart in the morning, what gets me out of bed is my morning meditation. I focus on self-love, on being present, and allowing this ache to move through me instead of consume me. If you've lost someone, I hope you find love in your heart and take care of yourself even when the pain is unbearable. Only with self-love, compassion, and forgiveness, can transformation occur.
