Just Be Honest

I believe radical honesty occurs when you notice three very important things. Notice what’s going on inside your body, notice what’s going on outside of you, and notice what’s going through your mind right now and report what you notice. Period. That's radical honesty.

If you're lying, nobody gets a chance to intervene for you because they believe everything is under control. This has been a revelation to me due to the circumstances that went down last year with my husband's addictions. Why is it when you are being honest it can backfire? Because the person you are laying down the honesty to is unable to be honest with their reality and the truth.

Now, this is important. Remember, if you tell the truth, you might get in trouble. If you lie, the same might happen. In other words, lying and telling the truth can cause trouble. Honesty is often a disruptor of what looks calm and orderly on the surface to everyone around you. However, if you’re going to get into trouble, which is the best kind of trouble to get into? Honest trouble.

The best kind of trouble is the trouble that’s created whenever you speak the truth. Even if it upsets somebody, hurts their feelings, or offends them, telling the truth moves the energy of life forward. The outcome may not be what you would expect or want to occur. But for certainty, enlightenment will transpire. These are life lessons. So before you choose to lie to your friend, your lover, your husband, your wife, your boss, colleague, or anyone, pause and consider that truth and honesty are vital information that we all need in order for us to be able to make it in the world. Nobody likes to be lied to and in the end, it's better to be in trouble for being honest.
