It’s hard to define emotions and currently, there’s no scientific consensus or singular definition of emotions. Often the idea of emotions are woven into other components of the human experience like mood, personality, motivation, disposition, or temperament. But our capacity to sense and feel things goes well beyond the mind. In other words, although scientists would say emotions begin in the mind, could emotions begin in the body's landscape for the mind to process the information coming from the body?
Your brain uses your past experiences to construct a hypothesis—the simulation—and compares it to the cacophony arriving from your senses - not just the 5 common senses but from your 6th sense within your connective tissues.
