The truth is, we often don't live in this state at all. We live in forgetfulness. We get stuck in the past, we allow it to hold us back. We get focused on the future and what we hope to have then - which we also hope is better than what is now. We forget to be present. We are not mindful of the present moment. Hope can become an obstacle to being present now.
We forget the past is still alive in the present. The future will be made of the present moment. The present moment is the substance the future is made of.
